    In your first recipe I am a bit confused as the title is Poached Pears with Vanilla and CARDAMOM and the recipe clearly states to use cardamom.

    But, in the photo you actually show vanilla and star anise. So, is the recipe correct and the photo wrong? Or is it the other way round?

    In any case, I might try it with star anise anyway to see how it turns out.

    SousVide Supreme responds: The recipe is correct. The photo is styled for effect with the star anise that has such a pretty holiday shape, not to represent the actual ingredients used.
